We had planned a camping trip. Something close to home. After looking at the cost of buying all the extra stuff to camp (and not knowing how the kids and David would do) we decided to back yard camp. We have a big yard. We have a lake outside. We planned a hike in the morning. Kayaking and fun stuff in the afternoon. We watched the weather all week. It was going to be cooler but no rain. Thursday that changed to maybe 20% rain chance. It wasn't supposed to rain until the evening so no biggie. We could still camp in the yard. By Friday it changed to an 80% rain chance but not until after dinner...
The rain started around noon. Heavy rain. Thanks tropical storm. We couldn't cook out and roast marshmallows but we set up a tent in the lake room. We did fun crafts inside. Made smores using the microwave. Watched some 80s movies with Sam and Kailynn.
I am not done with this camping thing. One day I will get these kids to camp, at a campground. This weekend just wasn't it.
We also had glow in the dark spiders. I don't have a picture of them. Willow said they were very "realistic." Big word for a little cutie.
